Today we are sending in our applications for Canadian Citizenship. We have been living in Canada for a bit over three years. From what we hear, this will be an interesting process! It may well take as long as the immigration process took. I will keep you informed of the timeline and milestones as they occur. Wish us luck!

I will be following your blog posts on obtaining citizenship with great interest. Vicky and I have another year to go before we can think about applying. We landed in August 2008 and moved to Canada Dec. 2008, so it seems like Dec. 2011 or maybe Jan 2012 before we can even try. I'm unsure about this "three years in a four year period" business. Does that mean you have to wait four years then count back three? I don't know. But best of luck with your application. Can't wait for the good news.
Good luck with the citizenship application. We applied about 18 months ago and have our exam this week ! I understand that assuming we pass it's about 3-4 months before swearing in and citizenship.
